“LIVING WELL” OUTREACH PROJECT

Trying to make sense of life can be frightening, especially if you have experienced trauma related pain and are facing it alone. You may be asking yourself, Why Me? What can I do? Where can I go for support? Who can I trust?

All too often the answers are too challenging and too painful to explore. It doesn’t have to be that way. Feeling hopeless is something many of us in society experience, leaving us feeling isolated and desperate. Affecting
every part of life, work, relationships, family life and personally.

Trauma comes in many forms and is unique to every individual, bereavement, loss, financial adversity, separation, divorce, mental health, drug and/or alcohol issues, physical abuse, sexually abuse, or even domestic abuse, for most
it may have even started in early childhood, we call these experiences “Adverse Childhood Experiences” or ACES for short.

The Living Well Team are people who just simply care and want to help. Although we are not trained counsellors, we can offer care, support, love and a listening ear, without judgement.

The Living Well team are different to many other professionals and services offered, we have God and our side, and as our Creator, he knows us inside out.

We believe in the promise of Hope and hold on to that Hope. The Bible tells us that, Jesus is our Hope; He is our light in our darkness moments.

“Yes, my soul, find rest in God: my hope comes from him” (Psalm 62:5).

“Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken” (Psalm 62:2).

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden
is light”. (Matthew 11 28:30).

The impact of ACES can feel overwhelming, can cause us to tread an unchartered path to our own destructive behaviours, but… it doesn’t have to be that way.

Peeling back those layers can be extremely painful, but can also result in healing and the freedom from emotional pain.

The Living Well Team are here to help and support you on your journey, to walk alongside you.
